Text: Howard remarried Donna, to give the baby a name, Dec.1957 , t h e n d i v o r c e d her again 1958.
Howard joined the Illinois National Guard right after he gr a d u a t e d f r o m h igh school. He was in an artillery unit and onc e th e y w e n t u p t o Wi sc onsi n for some war games. While up there , hi s ar till e r y uni t cam e i n fir st pl ace in shooting drills. Wh en Ho ward' s un i t re turne d to Ga lesb urg fr om th e war games, the y wer e deploy ed t o S out h Korea . This wa s bac k in ei ther 1 951 o r 195 2 when th e Nort h Kor ean s crosse d the 37t h parall el and i nva de d S outh Korea .
