Great-Grandma Kate was the only one of my fourth generation ancestors that I ever met while living; my mother was insistent that I remember our visit. In 1955 she was a very frail person confined to bed. She would not know that from the meeting with her would spring a hobby that has nagged me incessantly ever since. Catherine Rosevere Gram, from the vicinity of London, Ontario, has both American Revolution and United Empire Loyalist ancestors. A woman of strength in a time before liberation, she was postmaster of Minot, Dakota Territory, and a pioneer of Christian faith. She inspired her children in the arts and letters. Rumors abound that her Odell heritage leads to royalty, but instead it yields a blending of English and New Netherland cultures in upstate New York. Descendants of these family groups are urged to contact the file holders.
