T.W. MORRISON IS DEAD
FOR TWO TERMS HE WAS MARSHAL IN OLD WESTPORT
A Resident Here Sixty-Five Years, the Veteran Patrolman Had Retired From Department in 1946
Thomas W. Morrison, 85 years old, veteran Kansas City patroman and former marshal here, died today at the home 4137 State Line road.
Born in Austin, Tex., Mr. Morrison had lived in Kansas City sixty-five years. During this time he served as marshal of Westport for two terms and then was assigned for fifteen years to the Union Station.
Prior to his retirement in 1946, the officer's beat for six years was at the intersection of Forty-third and Mercier street where he looked after the safety of the Guardian Angel school pupils.
To members of the police department, Mr. Morrison was known as Crack-a-Day, a title deriving from his early morning single-handed raids on dice games.
Mr. Morrison also had been a conductor on the old Westport cable line. Previous to that he was a conductor of a mule-driven street car which traveled from the present Truman road and Grand avenue to Third and Walnut streets.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Police Relief association.
Mr. Morrison leaves his wife, Mrs. Lula M. Morrison of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Neuma Smith, 937 West Forty-second street, and Mrs. Richard W. Graff, 924 West Forty-second; a son, Earl W. Morrison of the home; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Freeman chapel.

OBITUARY
Thomas W. Morrison, Retired Patrolman, passed away at this home, Monday, January 15, 1951.
Officer Morrison was 85 years of age, and resided at 4137 State Line. He was born January 7, 1866, in Austin, Texas.
He was appointed to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, December 10, 1897 and served continuously until he was retired on pension November 1, 1946.
Surviving are his wife, Lula Morrison, a son, Earl W. Morrison of the home and two daughters, Mrs. Neuma Smith of 937 West 42nd. Street and Mrs. Margaret Graff of 924 West 42nd Street. Also five Grand Children and six Great Grand Children.
The body will lie in state at the Freeman Funeral Home, 42nd and Broadway. Services will be held a the Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 17, 1951 at 2:00 P. M.
