*** Obituary Starts Here ***
Mrs Mary Imlay Pumyea, widow of Peter B. Pumyea, M.D., died suddenly on Sunday, January 29, 1939, at her home on South Main street, Allentown. With the passing of Mrs. Pumyea, who was in her 81st year, Allentown loses one of its oldest residents, who had been in her usual good health until a few days
before her death.
Survivors include a son, Dr. P.C. Pumyea of New York City; four sisters -- Mrs. Robert T. Woodward, of Cream Ridge; Mrs. Thomas Meirs, of Trenton; Mrs. Frank L. Silver, of Haddonfield, and Miss Sarah Imlay, of Philadelphia; also one brother, Peter H. Imlay, of Bordentown.
Rev. H.D.S. Coates, of the First Baptist Church, conducted the funeral service from her late home on Wednesday afternoon, February 1, at 2 o'clock, and burial was made in the family plot in the Allentown Presbyterian Cemetery under the direction of Leming & Peppler. The following acted as pallbearers: Joseph M. Nolan, J. Harold Smith, George E. Robbins, A.R. Bates, Joseph H. Schooley and Frank M. Polhemus.
