My wife is a Crain whose family goes back to 17xx in North Carolina. However, I have not made a connection with the Crains in Williamson Co, IL. I have the following shown on my charts. How accurate it is I am not sure. Spencer Crain (1740NC-1824GA) married Elizabeth Barbour(1751-1835). They had children Lewis, William (1802-1891) married Eleanor Tompkins, Mary married Isaac Hill, Olive married John Heard, George (1775-1837) married Amelia "Emily" Tompkins, Elizabeth married Mr Baugham, and Spencer married Mary Tompkins. Spencer and Mary had children Lewis, Nancy, Oliver, Betty, Spencer and Jasper married Alice Carlisle. Spencer and Jasper are your line. All most all of the Crains in the Williamson Co, IL are came from Spencer and Jasper.
